Another month – another BoxyCharm review! Welcome to my July 2021 BoxyCharm Base Box Review. This month’s base box has a total value of $208.00! BoxyCharm is a monthly makeup subscription that costs $25USD (+5 shipping if you are in Canada like me). Interested in trying out BoxyCharm? This month’s theme was “FantaSea”. Each month BoxyCharm gives their base subscribers one choice item in their box. For July, subscribers had a choice between the Farmacy Whipped Greens Oil-Free Foaming Cleanser, OFRA Cosmetics Good to Go Mini Mix Palette, Alamar Cosmetics Brighten & Bronze Complexion Trio, and the ILLAMASQUA Unveiled Artistry Palette. I actually didn’t fill out my choice for this month, so everything in my box was a total surprise! Keep on reading to find out what products I received in my July 2021 BoxyCharm base box.

Alamar Cosmetics Brighten & Bronze Complexion Trio

This complexion trio is supposed to add dimension, warmth and luminosity to the face. It is formulated with hyaluronic acid for a smooth and buttery finish. It is also talc free, vegan, and cruelty free! I received the fair/light palette.

This palette has no scent, which can be good or bad depending on your preference. The fair/light was too fair for my current skintone, making the first two shades pretty useless. The last shade was really pretty though. Overall I was pretty disappointed.

COST: $25.00 USD / ~ $31.00 CAD (based on the current exchange rate)

The Lifestyle Co. Dextox Hair Serum

This hair serum is supposed to nourish and balance the scalp and promote healthy growth, leaving hair shiny and soft. It is made from nutrient dense plant oils. It is also vegan and cruelty free! I had never used a hair oil before, so I was really excited to try this.

The hair oil has a nutty smell to it, but I enjoyed it. My hair has the tendency to get oily, so I didn’t want to apply it directly to my scalp. I chose to apply it just to the ends of my wet hair after my shower. This serum left my ends feeling hydrated and it was so easy to brush out. I’m not completely sold on the $79.00 price tag – I probably wouldn’t pay that price for this. But I did enjoy it.

COST: $79.00 USD / ~ $99.00 CAD (based on the current exchange rate)

Mudmasky Vitamin Infused Eye Serum

This eye serum is a blend of all natural vitamin C that helps to firm skin. It is supposed to leave your eye area looking awake and refreshed. I have never heard of this brand before, so I was really excited to try it out.

This eye serum has no scent. It is one of the thinnest eye creams I have ever used, which is good. It left my eye area feeling awake and looking brighter. While this is definitely one of the best eye creams I’ve used, I am not sure it is worth the $63.00 price tag.

COST: $63.00 USD / ~ $79.00 CAD (based on the current exchange rate)

Grande Cosmetics GrandeGlow Plumping Liquid Highlighter

This liquid highlighter also supposedly firms and tightens the skin. I have never heard a highlighter being referred to as “plumping” before, so I was pretty interested in trying it out. I have been loving liquid and cream products lately.

The packaging reminds me a lot of a lipstick rather than a highlighter. It has a super sweet smell which I really loved. The highlighter was really pretty, creamy, and blended out beautifully and easily. I didn’t really notice any “plumping” but I will definitely get regular use out of this highlighter.

COST: $25.00 USD / ~ $31.00 CAD (based on the current exchange rate)

Billion Dollar Brows Brows on Point Micro Pencil in Taupe

Billion Dollar Brows is not my favourite brow brand out there. I have received a couple of similar products in previous boxes, so I was a little bit disappointed. This brow pencil is finer than the one I received previously, and I think this may have been a different shade as well.

The taupe colour is definitely way too dark for my brows. The brow product itself is really creamy. It might actually be too creamy. It does blend out nicely though. But this shade is just too dark for me to ever get use out of it

COST: $16.00 USD / ~ $20.00 CAD (based on the current exchange rate)

Final Thoughts On The July 2021 BoxyCharm Base Box

Overall, the July 2021 BoxyCharm Base Box was not bad. The eye brow pencil and the face palette were kind of a bust. I am hoping that I will be able to get more use out of the face palette in the winter time. The value of this month’s box was $208.00 USD / ~ $260.00. You cannot complain about that value for a $25 box. Also all of these products I cannot easily buy in Canada, which is something I really love about BoxyCharm. What products did you receive in this months box?! Until next time, XX.
