It has been a LONG time since I have had a chance to post a blog post.. And that is because my life has been crazy hectic as our sweet little baby BOY arrived on September 16th – two and a half weeks before his expected arrival date! Now it’s time to share my labour & delivery experience.

My labour and delivery story is not a typical one. My birth plan included labouring at home for as long as possible in order to avoid medical intervention. It did not include giving birth to my baby boy on my bed surrounded by an army of medical professionals!

Since Camdyn is now a month old and we are adjusting nicely into our new life – I finally found time to be able film my labour and delivery story. You can watch my full story on Youtube.

To summarize – my labour was 13 and a half hours long; however, I very QUICKLY transitioned from early labour to needing to push. One minute I was asking for white mac n cheese – the next minute I’m screaming that I have to push.

Luckily, everything turned out alright. Camdyn was born a healthy 7 lbs 15 oz and all vitals were normal so there was no need for us to go to the hospital after all. I can imagine it’s much nicer to recover in the comfort of your own bed following giving birth rather than in a cold hospital room.

Until next time, xox.
