It’s been a minute since my last BoxyCharm review! Honestly, the past couple of boxes have just been okay. The lack of excitement coupled with barely being able to keep my eyes open kind of put me off from trying out new products the past few months. But this box has me excited!

If you don’t already know – BoxyCharm is a monthly subscription box available for $21USD (+ $5USD shipping for us Canadians). Each month you will receive four to five full sized products, with the total price of the box typically valuing over $100. Read my in-depth review of the Boxycharm subscription service here. GLAMGLOW Gentle Bubble Cleanser

First of all, the packaging of the product is so gorgeous! I love me some beautiful packaging – it makes me excited to use a product. I really enjoy this cleanser so far. It’s gentle on the skin, doesn’t cause any breakouts, and leaves my skin feeling clean but not stripped. I use it in combination with my Luna FOREO Mini as I like to ensure that my skin is receiving the deepest cleanse possible.

This will definitely be a repeat purchase for me.

Mellow Cosmetics Brow Definer in Medium Brown

Brow pencils/definers are one of those products I love receiving in my BoxyCharm every once in a while. I am the kind of person who wouldn’t ever try new brow products otherwise. The only risk with them coming in the box is you have to hope that it comes in your shade.

This brow definer is EXTREMELY creamy – to the point that I think it is too creamy. I had a difficult time dispersing the product out with the spooly. This is definitely not my favourite brow product out there.

Alamar Cosmetics Colorete Blush Trio in Fair/Light

I’ll be honest – when I opened this palette I was a little bit underwhelmed. The colours were beautiful, but two of the three blushes had shimmer in them and I typically gravitate towards matte blushes. I decided to try them anyways and boy am I glad I did! I actually mixed the two shades Castaway + Scorcher to create a beautiful orange glow on my cheeks. The blush was sheer, buildable, but I didn’t notice any flecks of glitter on my face (which is my biggest pet peeve with shimmer blushes). The colours in this palette are perfect for summer and have become my daily go-to for blush.

Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in Kiss of Fire

I was so excited that we were getting a Dose of Colours liquid lipstick in this months box! I’ve heard a lot of great things about their matte formula, but since it is not a brand available in Sephora, I have never had the opportunity to try their products. The packaging of the lipstick is beautiful and sleek; however, from the outside of the product I thought the lipstick I received was red when it fact it is a bright pink. I was a little bit disappointed with the colour I received simply because I almost never gravitate towards bright colours and I knew I wouldn’t end up reaching for this lip colour often.

Let me tell you, this formula has some serious staying power. The swatch from the photo below WOULD NOT come off my arm – no matter how hard I scrubbed!

Ciaté London Eye Lustre Creme Eyeshadow in Cupid

I’ll be honest – when I pulled this product out of the box I was pretty disappointed. I was excited about the product itself; however, I was not a fan of the purple colour that the product appeared to be. Honestly, I tossed this aside without even swatching it. That is until I watched Kathleen Lights Boxycharm Unboxing. The colour actually turned out to be more gold glitter with a purple base, but it wasn’t as intense as I thought it was going to be.

Overall Thoughts

Overall, I am pretty happy with this months box. While the creme shadow and liquid lipstick aren’t things I am going to get daily use out of – I enjoy them because I was able to try new products/colours at a low cost. The cleanser and blush trio were a major win for me. The total cost of this month’s box was approximately $142 CAD (after exchange rates).

I (sadly) have decided to cancel my BoxyCharm going forward, for the simple fact that I will be going on maternity leave in October and our income will be limited. I am planning to re-sub in the future, as I really enjoy receiving my boxes every month! Overall my experiences with BoxyCharm have been amazing, and I definitely recommend them to any make up lover looking to build their collection.

Until next time.
